Changes in the King Kong movie poster over time
I
I have chosen three film posters of a film that was first made in 1933 and has since been 'updated and released' in 1976 and 2005. The early King Kong poster above is brightly coloured e.g. yellow, orange, blue, purple etc and this gives it a very child-like, comical look. It looks quite amateurish compared to the more recent poster in 2005. The typeface is quite large and dominates the lower half of the poster and the top half is taken up by a 'not so scary' looking gorilla. The later poster of this film is a lot more professional looking. The range of colours are kept to a minimum e.g. black, grey and white and the film title is much less prominent on the poster. The poster from 1976 still looks dated however the is a definite shift towards a more scary looking gorilla. The colour palette has been toned down and has now lost the bright yellows and orange of the earlier poster. The gorilla looks a lot more realistic in its colour and its general features, added to the detailed backdrop of buildings, skyscrapers and sky it looks far less comedic and far more action and adventure. The later, 2005 poster, is very 'up to date' looking and the typeface follows the conventions of posters that are made now. It is not as big and overpowering as it mainly uses the image to tell the audience of the film that they are advertising. The layout of the poster has not changed a great deal over the years, as the stars of the films, directors, credits etc are all listed at the bottom of the poster.

anyasis of film posters
These are two very different posters for films called 'Immortal' A and 'Expendables' B of the same genre action/adventure. The simiarity for each of them are they both include a contrast of very bright and very dark colours these include black. They also have the title of the film on the bottom of the poster. They also both have an explosion in the background behind a group or individual person. The differences are that one of the posters A is of a old setting while the other B is much more of a modern setting.

Proposal for my film poster
For my film poster I will use a trailer for a film I made myself.
This is an action-adverture/thriller/comedy based film. I am going to use a still screen shot from the trailer of a action scene which will cover the whole background. For this I will use a shot of the beast behind the main characters who are running. It will have the film name 'The Deamon Claw' in the middle of the shot as this is the most important so people need to look at it first. I will also include a list of the main cast going along the bottom, the date of release will also be on the poster above the list of cast but below the mast head. I have not yet be able to chose a typeface which sorts the genre of the film for the masthead it will be in size 32. The typeface of the list of cast will be in the standard arial size 8. The date of release we be in a typeface different to that of the masthead but similar in a way. The colours I will use for the poster will be of very bright colours like oranges and yellows and very dark ones like browns and blacks this is so it stands out and like exciting.

Film synopsis
The poster will be of a bit in the film with this synopsis.
Key words; school, church, wood, more dead bodies, trapped in church, blood,
Some kids who are on their summer holiday go to a wood for a walk but half way round they find a body of a dead teacher they know called Mr Ed. The kids look around and notice two more people they recognise as also teachers Mrs Drew and Mr Sir. They all have blood dropping from their neck. The kids at once think vampires. They look into the wood seeing a headed figure they run to their car. When they get there the car has gone. The scene is cut.
